In automation and robotics knowing the correct position and inclination of any tool is a must. Most of the servomechanisms employ positional feedback sensors to rectify any errors they have made while being operational. MOC-7811 Encoder Sensor is a Slotted optoisolator module, with an IR transmitter and a photodiode mounted on it facing each other. It performs non-contact object sensing. MOC7811 is used to find the position of the wheel in any motor control system, factory automation robots, computer printers, and plotters for positional feedback.
Product Description
To connect this to any controller, you need to connect the cathode to GND and Anode to supply with an appropriate resistor to power the Photodiode. If any obstacle pass between the IR transmitter and photodiode then the output logic level will change as the IR light change the saturation level of the base of the phototransistor. Use this change to detect the motion in your controller.
