LM 741 is an age-old Op-Amp IC known for its reliable performance. Although there are advanced Op-Amps in the market today, these Op-Amps are still being used for their popularity. These LM741 series IC's are general purpose operational amplifiers which have improved performance over industry standards like the LM709. They are direct, plug-in replacements for the 709C, LM201, MC1439 and 748 in most applications. It is a classic amplifier chip and has overload protection on the input and output.
The features of LM741 IC are similar to LM358 but the IC houses only one Op-amp inside it. Additionally, the Op-amp has in-built short circuit and overload protection. It also has a very low supply current of only 1.7mA to 2.8mA.
