The 74HC245 is an octal bus transceiver IC designed for asynchronous two-way communication between data buses. The device inputs are compatible with standard CMOS outputs and with pull−up resistors, they are compatible with LSTTL output. This IC has 3 non-inverting outputs. It is a CMOS IC and is commonly used as data level converters between 5V and 3.3V systems.
Product Description of 74HC245 - Octal Bus Transceiver IC
Pin 2 to 9 represents the A data port and pin 11 to 18 represents the B data port. The first pin,(pin 1) is the direction pin. The devices allow data transmission from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, depending on the logic level at the direction control (DIR) input. The output-enable (/OE) input can be used to disable the device’s outputs so that the buses are effectively isolated.
