Schottky diodes have low forward voltage drop and fast switching speeds compared with a rectifier diode. Because of its high switching speed it is commonly used in Inverters and DC-DC Converters. The downside of the diode is that it has low reverse breakdown voltage. The features of the 1N5819 diode are:
- Forward Voltage drop: 600mV @ 1A
- Reverse Voltage: 28V (RMS)
- Forward Current: 1A
- Forward surge current: 25A
- Guard Ring Die Construction for Transient Protection
- Low Power Loss, High Efficiency
- High Surge Capability
- High Current Capability and Low Forward Voltage Drop
1N5819 Diode Applications:
- Used to prevent reverse polarity problem
- Used as a protection device
- Used in Low Voltage High Frequency Inverters
- Current flow regulators
- Polarity Protection applications
