NOR gate is one of the Universal gates along with NAND gate which means we can form any logic gate we want by combination of several NOR gates hence for this we can use this CD4001-Quad 2-Input NOR Gate IC to form the combination to be used in your project so that you don’t need to connect different ICs for different gates requirements. Each NOR gate has 2 inputs and one output lines. All the four gates share the same power rail, but can operate independently. Working voltage range of IC is from 5V to 20V. It can deliver approx. 10mA at 12V but this can be reduced as power supply voltage reduces. This IC consists of 14 pin where pin numbers 7 and 14 are connected to battery or DC power supply. Negative is connected to pin 7 and pin 14 is connected to power supply. When operating at 5V the maximum low level input voltage is 0.5 and the minimum high level input voltage is 4.5.
